Below the Paramo lies the Andean forest. When I was younger me and my grandmother (the legendary Yaya) used to sneak into areas like this to steal Bromelias - the spikey looking thing which makes for a great crown. I don't do this anymore as it turns out that removing plants from protected areas is borderline vandalism, but I can't say I regret it. They are anemones to high altitude coral reefs.
